Covered in Peace is a nonprofit organization that was built from a love for God’s people and quilting. Our founder, Felicia Coleman, had been an avid quilter and small business owner of a quilt shop for many years. With a desire to do more for the community and a need presented, Covered in Peace came to life. It is with the same passion we show up every day to spread the love of God through our gifts and donations. Our organization would be nothing without our many volunteers and donors supplying the needs to serve our partners.

Join us in covering others in peace one blanket, pillow, or need at a time. 

Our Story

Covered in Peace was founded in 2023 but the journey began long before this. In 1970 Felicia was born into the foster care system, later to be adopted by two wonderful parents Dinah and Charles. While she was fortunate to have this outcome some are not so lucky, including her adoptive father. Charles was one of the many children who were not adopted and phased out of the system. Later in life Felicia and her family would move out of the immediate DFW area to a small town an hour south. Five minutes from her house and now Covered in Peace headquarters is the foster village which her dad had spent many years while in the system. Additionally the foster village would be where her mother worked for years and where her children made great friends and spent many summer days running around with children who were placed here.

From these experiences, Felicia has always held this community close to her heart. When the opportunity was presented by the local CPS office to gift blankets for adoption day in 2022 Felicia jumped at the opportunity to work in partnership with this community that has been intertwined into her life since the day she was born. Through this experience Covered in Peace was formed, more opportunities have been presented, and it is our goal to touch the lives of as many as we can reach.
